THE POWER OF OUR GOD.
Worship music is great, isn't it? Maybe you go to church-- maybe you don't, maybe you like worship music, and maybe you don't. But for some reason, when a group of people get together and sing praise, it's amazing. My question for you is: why?
Why do we sing praise to God? Why do we repeat phrases over and over like "How great is our God" or "I will sing of your love forever..."
Do we believe it? That's the real question. It's easy to read words on the projector screen and lift our hands in the air, (that is, if you have two eyes, a brain, and hands). It doesn't take much to "worship." The true act of worship, though... the kind that fills you with the Holy Spirit, the kind where you truly believe every word that comes from your lips, the kind that fills you with hope, strength, and a devout fear of the everlasting God...
If you believe in what you're saying, and believe in the almighty strength and power of God, there's no limit to your worship. It's easy to believe God is great and "sing of His love forever" if you believe with all of your heart that HE IS LORD OF ALL.
I find it really sad the lack of faith I find in fellow believers. I won't throw anyone under the bus, but sometimes I get SO frustrated at people that constantly claim they're followers of God, but don't fully dedicate their lives and put their trust in Him. You have to believe in what you tell people. Believe in the words you sing every Sunday morning. You have to believe in the strength of God, or else you might not see it when it's standing right in front of you.
Never underestimate the power of God. Never doubt that His will is perfect and that all we have to do is trust. Miracles happen. People drastically change. Organizations can thrive solely on the gifts that God gives. Entire nations change because of Him. The world changed forever when He entered it, and we don't even see it-- don't even believe it!
WHY NOT? Because it's "scary" to put our faith in Him? Because we're nervous that He won't be faithful? We're afraid He won't answer our prayers? Maybe we don't want to get out of our comfy little lives enough to live by faith. Maybe we like making our own decisions, and only call on Him when we feel He is needed. GUESS WHAT?
The same God that led people out of slavery, and talked to someone through fire, who healed children, and blind people, and entire nations... the same God that raised His SON to life for us is the same God we claim to worship.
I don't think God is limiting His power for our generation. I don't think He wants to hold anything back... I think we just can't contain His greatness with our doubting hearts. If we'd only open our eyes and let Him live fully in our lives, there's no way we could ever measure His greatness. The world would change if God's power was fully set in the hearts of His believers.
But instead, we stand at church and pretend to believe in what we sing. We pretend to be believers, and never trust in Him enough to let His power be shown to the best of its abilities. Don't let the world push its ideas of a weak God that hides in the shadows into your mind. Our God is STRONG and POWERFUL and no one can ever surpass His glory. Don't be changed by worldly views... Jesus changed them all when He came, lived, died, and ROSE AGAIN.

1 Corinthians 15:58 (NIV)
Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
