LETTING GO.
In today's reading, I was just a little confused. It seemed like God was destroying everything the people cared about! He was destroying their cities, their idols, their friends... I was a little afraid.
Why were these people losing so much at one time? Were they THAT evil? Did God hate them THAT much?
But let's face it-- God doesn't "hate" anyone. It's the opposite, actually. He loves us SO much that sometimes He allows things to happen that seem to hurt us for a little while. We just have to continue to hold onto the believe that He has a plan, and He always works it out.
In today's reading, God took away things, like I said-- but maybe... just maybe... those things were meant to be taken away! God KNOWS what's important, and maybe the people's idols weren't important. Maybe their cities and all the gross things inside them were meant to be taken away.
At the time of loss, everyone is sad. I'm never happy-go-lucky when something "bad" happens to me! It's so easy to see someone at a time of loss and think "oh, come on. You still have a God. You'll be okay. Get over it!"
But when loss happens to YOU, it's different. It's hard. I just hope and pray that this post will make you see things different next time you're faced with what SEEMS to be loss.
I can assure you that God has a plan for you, and He will be there with you every step of the way. Thank God for what you have, and what needs to be taken away.
It's hard sometimes, to have a hope in something or someone and have it fall apart. But loss is a part of our lives, we lose and we gain. God knows how to balance it, so just hang on for the ride :)
