Isaiah 9-11

Okay, so let's get this thing started!
HOW GREAT IS OUR GOD!
That's a song title, and it's also the title of today's devotion. Jesus is SO awesome that His birth can be described perfectly before it even happened! Like in today's reading, God spoke through Isaiah to tell people about the coming of Christ, even though it hadn't even happened yet.
This is so cool to me. I love it.
But today, God described Jesus a little more, and His description is awesome, too. Here ya go:
Isaiah 11:2-5
The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him—
the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding,
the Spirit of counsel and of power,
the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD -
and he will delight in the fear of the LORD.
He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes,
or decide by what he hears with his ears;
but with righteousness he will judge the needy,
with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth.
He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth;
with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked.
Righteousness will be his belt
and faithfulness the sash around his waist.
THERE YOU GO, FOLKS. God will send His son and He'll be all of the above verses :)
I know the devotion is short today, but it's just a reminder to remember how AWESOME God is and how much we truly need Him. None of us can slay the wicked with our lips, can we?
Think about THAT.
Peace out.
