2nd Chronicles 5-7

HIS LOVE ENDURES FOREVER.

It’s hard sometimes—to love God with all your heart. There are always those people who want to put you down. Or those people who claim they’re believers, and do something hateful.

Plus, like I said, there are those just plain MEAN people who despise you just because you’re a believer. Maybe you’re not a believer, and that’s cool. But when people are mean because you’re a believer, it doesn’t make Christianity all that appealing, right?

So anyway. Back to the reading. You need to read 2nd Chronicles 5-7 if you haven’t already, which you can do at www.bible.com or with the BIBLE READER to the right of this post.

In today’s reading, Solomon gave thanks to God because of all the lovely things He did for the Israelites, and yadda yadda yadda. But I guess what it all boils down to is WHY? Why should you believe in Jesus when the world blocks Him out?

And that, my friend, is the answer. We follow Jesus for that exact reason. If the world was a happy pappy place, and there weren’t any haters in the world, then why would we even need Jesus? I worship and follow Jesus because there ARE those meanies that try and put you down.

Because, no matter how evil they seem, and no matter what they do to try and break us down… God’s love endures forever. That’s the title of today’s devotion, because it’s so important. The world is a cruel place. But instead of turning away from God because of this, I think it’s all the more of a reason to keep holding on to Jesus.

It’s almost like writing a book, and being rejected. Doesn’t that make you want to publish one even more?

The next time a meanie comes up to you, or persecutes you, just forgive them and try even harder. Instead of closing up like a little turtle in their shell… take that opportunity to turn to God even more. Even if the hater just plain HATES on you… God’s LOVE will always endure. Forever.

Not only will he forgive you, He will be with you all the time. Take this chance I’m giving you to pray about wherever you are in your faith, and watch as God meets with you.
