Job 9-12 (Read now at www.bible.com or with the BIBLE READER to the left of this post.)

DON'T DOUBT.

It's easier said than done. I can sit here and type a jillion words about never doubting God, or never doubting yourself... but we all do it one way or another. Sadly, doubt is just apart of us, and I don't think there's any way to simply abolish it.

Having the opposite of doubt-- faith-- takes a lot of hard work. It's normal to have doubts about your faith, because you can't really SEE God, or HEAR His direct words. Us humans usually have to see things to have faith in them, which gives a lot of room for doubt.

But in today's reading, it just gave me a little burst of hope. A little ray of sunshine, if you will. This guy, Job, was being tested by Satan. Satan took away his family and almost all that he owned, and Job was being a little doubtful, if I do say so myself.

He blamed himself, mostly. And although sometimes our actions can come back to bite us, I rarely believe that God punishes us. And if He did, there's always His forgiveness that we can have no matter what.

But Job, after all, was a Jew. So there was so Jesus, and not the same forgiveness we have today. Job kept doubting, which, I'll admit, I would, too.

But he doubted himself. Not once did he curse God for what was happening.

When something bad happens to you, like it did to Job... it's okay to have a few doubts. It's okay to question things that happen. In fact, it's probably a GOOD THING if you sit down and think about it a little.

But NEVER doubt God. Although it seems hard, and God may seem cruel sometimes, we have to trust that there's a plan. We have to have faith.

Peace out.

Having doubts is a normal thing. We need to see things to believe, but Faith is blind. We just have to know that nothing is impossible with God, and if it is according to His will, then work out for the best. We just have to skip over the doubts and trust in God. Easier said than done for us humans.

This is true. Faith is blind sounds rough, but it's true. That's what makes it so hard to believe.
