Ephesians 1-6 (WHOLE BOOK!)

The book of Ephesians is a short book, and we can read the whole thing for today's reading. It's full of great analogies and verses I'm sure you'll enjoy :)

MADE ALIVE.

Paul had an interesting theory he expressed in today's reading. He's mentioned it a few times, but it has become known pretty clearly to me today and I thought I'd share it with you all:

As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath.

But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.

Ephesians 2:1-5

Until receiving the love of Christ-- our sins pretty much killed us. We felt guilt, and pain, and remorse. But when we give our lives to Jesus-- he takes away our sin and we become alive.

That's just something I love to think about. We are made alive, only in Jesus Christ, an in no one else. So next time you're feeling down, know that you can be thankful to be alive-- really alive-- through the forgiveness of our sins. Our hearts keep beating, only because of Him.

Something to think about, I guess :)

Have a great day!

Peace be with you.
