Revelation 20-22

Read these final chapters of the Bible today. They're full of hope and promise that lasts all the way to modern day, even though they were written so long ago. You can read with your Bible, or online at http://www.biblegateway.com/. You can also access them with the BIBLE READER widget to the right of this post.

LIFE IS GOOD.

This phrase is mostly overused in our society... people say it without thinking, and I do too. Life is Good. La la la.

But because I'm such an over thinker, I've decided to take this three word phrase and decipher its meaning. The book of Revelation is all about what will happen when God comes again. Some people find it super hopeful, and others argue that it's one of the most depressing books in the Bible.

Both sides can agree that God hasn't come yet-- and we're still living with our own decisions here on earth. All who are reading this devotion have life, and their heart is beating to a beat in which they can't control! What makes our heart beat? Why do we breath in and out? Why do our cells multiply within our bodies?

We can't control our earthly bodies sometimes... it's just regulated and taken care of for us by God because He cares enough to keep our hearts beating. He loves us SO much that He lets us make our own decisions. This crazy concept of our hearts beating, our lungs breathing, and our brains thinking is considered LIFE.

God has specifically taken each and every person and crafted them to be unique. No two people are the same... they may be on the outside but we all have choices to make. We can all choose what to do with our lives.

And, because God has given us the gift of life, I think we should all take advantage of the choices He gives us and glorify Him. We don't make our hearts beat by ourselves. He regulates it all-- all except the choices we make. In thanks, let us give our lives to Him for all He's graciously allowed us to live here on earth.

As learned in the book of Revelation, one day, God is coming again. This is where we pull away from the black and white facts of life and get into opinions. What comes to mind when you think of God coming again?

Through my experience, I am so excited to see Him come again. I have a faith in God and I'm not nervous about my future. I know that God loves me and I've chosen to give my life to Him.

What about you? Listen to the words of God:

He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children."

Revelation 21:6-7

Doesn't this sound SO comforting and promising? I just want to jump up and down and pray to God out of thanks. He is so good! His promise to us is SO good! Life is so good with faith in Jesus, because you know that your eternity is covered. You know that no matter what happens on earth, you can spend the rest of your being with a God who will never let you go.

"But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”

Revelation 21:8

Now, I'm starting to see why some people find hope and others find depression. If your faith isn't in Jesus... this whole "end of the world" thing can seem a little scary. So what are you waiting for?

While your heart is still beating, make sure you're covered for when it stops. Put your faith in Jesus! Put your life in His hands, and believe in the God that gives us the gift of this amazing thing called life.

I loved my journey reading the Bible, because it opened my eyes to just HOW amazing God is and just HOW much we have to be thankful for. I want to glorify God with my entire life, in everything I do, and I hope you chose to make a similar decision.

If you need any guidance or help, I'm just a click away. Email me at carlygaile@yahoo.com... I am more than happy to help you in your relationship with the God that keeps on giving, over and over and over again.

Go in peace, knowing that God will never let you go. Life is Good.

Peace out.

It is so good to know that God is in control of everything. We are not in control. We can use our brains to make choices and hopefully, make choices that glorify him. Thanks for your faithful blog.
