Jeremiah 49

Read this ONE CHAPTER at http://www.bible.com/ or with the BIBLE READER to the right of this post.

IN DAYS TO COME.

In today's reading, there was more death and destruction, because people has sinned. God destroyed all the people, in hopes that things would get better in days to come. It's important to know that even though a lot of damage was done, that God DID have a plan, and He really was doing it for a better tomorrow. The people deserved what happened to them, but it's not like God was just going to end the world. He was going to make better things to come.

I don't know if you've realized it yet, but all of the above paragraph can be applied to us-- to you-- RIGHT NOW. Sometimes in today's world, there is turmoil. There is death, and destruction, and pain. But it's not like God is trying to destroy the world.

And even when the day comes that He DOES let the world fall apart, everyone with faith in Him will be saved in days to come.

"...I will set my throne in Elam
and destroy her king and officials,"
declares the LORD.

"Yet I will restore the fortunes of Elam
in days to come,"
declares the LORD.

So, as short as the message is today, it rings true to just about every heart. Know deep down that God DOES have a plan, and we aren't just puppets. We have a choice to make in these tough times.

I chose to cling to Jesus, because I know that in Him, a better day is coming.

Peace be with ya.

Hey Zoe! I really appreciate all the comments you've been posting. I think it's great how you follow along with me, and that's really cool of you! Thanks! I also wanted to drop a hint about today's blog. I think it's important to know that God didn't really "KILL" those people. Yes, He might of sent the sickness and stuff, but the people were being SO bad that it was really their fault. God wouldn't of been angry if the people would of followed Him. Don't worry, though-- today we can ask God to forgive us, and everything will work out fine :) I just thought it was important to tell you that God is a God of LOVE, so He didn't just kill those people for no reason. He loves us all :) Thanks so much for commenting!
