March 2nd -- Deuteronomy 30-32
You can read these fine chapters at http://www.bible.com/ or with the BIBLE READER to the left of this post. If you don't, it's no big deal. However, it will be a lot harder to understand today's reading... so I'd glance over it if I were you!
Music.
Some hate it too loud, some can't stand it when it's quiet. But, in reality, music will never die. Practically everyone loves it, mostly because there's a type out there for everyone. Some like pop, or rap, or classical, jazz, rock, am I forgetting anything?
In today's reading, God tells Moses he is going to die. (NOT God, Moses. Moses is going to die.) Anyway, Moses is almost certain God's people are going to turn away from God when Moses leaves, so he writes them a song to remind them of their duties.
Since no one is actually singing it... it looks just like a poem in the Bible. It doesn't rhyme, and it has no tune, so why was it so special? Perhaps it wasn't that special. Except, for the fact that it was solely about following Jesus, and that's something special to me.
Deuteronomy 32-
3 I will make known the name of the Lord.
Praise God! How great he is!
4 He is the Rock. His works are perfect.
All of his ways are right.
He is faithful. He doesn't do anything wrong.
He is honest and fair.
5 Israel, you have sinned against him very much.
It's too bad for you that you aren't his children anymore.
You have become a twisted and evil nation.
6 Is that how you thank the Lord?
You aren't wise. You are foolish.
Remember, he's your Father. He's your Creator.
He made you. He formed you.
Praise be to God! What a great scripture, right? Or, what a great song, rather. The Bible is so powerful. I love it! It's so easy to think about Him and praise Him in this moment, because you're on a CHRISTIAN blog, with ENCOURAGING words, and BIBLE SCRIPTURES. But, tell me the truth. What are you doing, and how are you acting, when you aren't staring at this blog?
Do you remember the scripture? Do you try and follow the message? Or do you continue living your life, unaware that you have the opportunity to follow Him? Sadly, I (the WRITER of this blog,) forget sometimes. A lot, actually.
So how do we make it important? Find your passion. Some, it's art. Or maybe it's writing, or music, or athletics, or being social with others. Whatever it may be, God has a plan for YOU. He gave you talents for a reason, and it's not just so you can be good at it.
No matter who you are, or how old you are... God has a plan. Take what He's given you, and use it! Everyday, in everything we do, we use our talents. Sometimes, without even noticing them. However... if we use them for God, we'll be more aware of them, and glorify God while doing so.
What's your favorite song? In other words, what's your poem, your story, your talent. Everyone is different, but I can assure you that you can praise God while doing your talent. God if our ROCK. He is perfect. There's no better day than today to start giving thanks to Him!
Go on! Think about him with all of you, with your talents, and flaws. He loves you through it all! Adios, and PEACE!
