Ezekiel 41-43

WHY IT HAS TO BE SO DANG COMPLICATED.

Why does the reading today have to be so dang complicated? Why did God have people make the temple EXACTLY how He wanted it-- and not how they wanted it? Why did every single detail matter? Why is all so tedious and important and strict?

Why does it matter to me?

If you've asked these questions while reading, then you're just like me. The first part of today's reading was awful to read through, solely because it was just long and boring. The details of making a temple? Why is that important? More importantly, what does it matter?

Then I read the last chapter. There was a passage that totally changed the way I was thinking, and maybe it did for you, too. It talked about how these things need to be followed because in God's eyes, they matter. Though they seem stupid and mean to us, God's purpose isn't "let's see how well they can make a temple." To me, I think that God was asking himself, "How much do my followers really care? It's easy to not murder and not be mean in my Name, but what about the tough stuff?"

God isn't necessarily "testing" us, like... He's not sitting up in heaven with a clipboard and a red pen. However, sometimes things happen to see how we'll adjust. God is seeing whether or not we'll be faithful to Him afterwards.

Does that make sense?

Lemme know if not, or if you have any questions. Other than that, have an AWESOME DAY!!

Peace out.

PS: Here's the passage I was talking about:

"Son of man, describe the temple to the people of Israel, that they may be ashamed of their sins. Let them consider the plan, and if they are ashamed of all they have done, make known to them the design of the temple—its arrangement, its exits and entrances—its whole design and all its regulations and laws. Write these down before them so that they may be faithful to its design and follow all its regulations.

"This is the law of the temple: All the surrounding area on top of the mountain will be most holy. Such is the law of the temple.

God has a master plan for His temples and our lives. He wants us to try to follow His plans according to His will. How faithful to Him in following IS important to Him.
