Zephaniah 1-3

I think it's interesting-- parts of the Bible. How God can be speaking through prophets. It's unreal! If you don't have a good understanding of the whole concept, then it would sound really bizarre and fiction-y. But time and time again, everything that God says happens. For instance, God tells His people that they will be destroyed if they don't listen to Him.

And guess what? They're destroyed.

And of course, there are tons of prophesies about the savior of the world, who will be born in a manger, and who will save mankind from their sins by being murdered on a cross...

And guess what? 700 years later, Jesus came into the world.

So there isn't a doubt in my mind that everything God says is true, and if it hasn't happened yet, one day it will. If you haven't already, read today's chapters (there are only three: Zephaniah 1, 2, and 3.) God speaks through Zephaniah and tells a rather interesting prophesy you'll have to read to believe. You can read now at www.biblegateway.com or with the BIBLE READER widget to the right of this post if you don't have a Bible handy.

Basically, God is telling people that one day, it won't matter how rich we are, how many homes we own, how many friends we gain. What WILL matter is whether or not you have a faith in Him. If you live your life with God and His teachings, then the day of judgement will be easy and we'll be rejoicing to heaven.

But if we blow off God and all He has to offer, then the judgment day will lead to horror and suffering.

It's such a weird thing to grasp-- it's a messy topic by itself, right? Whether or not there's a God, whether or not the world just evolved by itself, whether or not there really WILL be a judgement day.

But all of this confusion can easily be stopped with the facts we've read throughout the Bible. All this stuff that God is saying that comes TRUE. It's a proven fact that Jesus walked this earth, and it's proven to be written 700 years before He was actually born. I'm not making this up, people!

So, why should today's prophesy be any different? What if God comes down to earth TOMORROW to judge us? Will you be ready? Can anyone honestly say they believe in God and love Him just like He loves us?

We all have nasty pasts. Every single human being has regrets, and past sins. But on the other hand, we all have a future to look forward to, also. We all can say that whether we want to or not, we will one day pass away. What happens then?

Put your faith in Jesus. Put your heart next to His and live with Him instead of sin. Change your life today, because no one knows what will happen tomorrow. The prophesy might come true in 1,000 years, or it might just happen in 5 minutes, and we have to be ready!

Have a great weekend. Peace.
