Proverbs 21-23

Read these now with the BIBLE READER to the left of this post or at http://www.bible.com/.

LISTEN TO YOUR GOD.

Proverbs 21:2-3

All deeds are right in the sight of the doer,
but the Lord weighs the heart.
To do righteousness and justice
is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.

Sometimes what WE do and what WE say seems right to US. But no matter what think, it's God's opinion that matters, so we have to keep in mind what He wants us to do. Be nice to others, and you too will be treated nicely.

Proverbs 21:13

If you close your ear to the cry of the poor,
you will cry out and not be heard.

Provers 22:2

The rich and the poor have this in common:
the Lord is the maker of them all.

Sometimes we feel as if we have it all on our backs, like being a Christian isn't worth it. I feel like that sometimes, even though in the end, I know it will all be worth it. It's really important to listen to what God has to say, even if we disagree with what He has to say. It may be hard now, but our eternity will be a heck of a lot better :)

Proverbs 23:13-14

Do not withhold discipline from your children;
if you beat them with a rod, they will not die.
If you beat them with the rod,
you will save their lives from death.

^^Metaphorically speaking, of course^^

I know these words are few, and the devotion isn't 1,000 hours long like usual. But sometimes it doesn't matter how long something is, but what it contains. This is chock full of good verses and things about listening to what God has to say, so I hope you take them into consideration today and forever!

Peace out!
