"GRACE OF OUR LORD JESUS"

Oh, how I loved today's reading. I loved it a whole lot. Perhaps more than normal days of reading, but I'm allowed to have favorites, right?

I thought it was SO great how Peter just blew away his audience. They were asking him about previous traditions, and whether or not they needed to be kept in play. Peter is one of my role-models, because he always takes the chances he's given to tell others about Jesus, and he does it in a way that makes God sound exactly how He really is, no more, no less.

I loved this speech from Peter:

..."Brothers, you know that some time ago God made a choice among you that the Gentiles might hear from my lips the message of the gospel and believe. God, who knows the heart, showed that he accepted them by giving the Holy Spirit to them, just as he did to us. He did not discriminate between us and them, for he purified their hearts by faith. Now then, why do you try to test God by putting on the necks of Gentiles a yoke that neither we nor our ancestors have been able to bear? No! We believe it is through the grace of our Lord Jesus that we are saved, just as they are.”

Acts 15:7-11

Being saved ISN'T based upon your originality, or how many times you obey traditions, or how much money you have. We're saved through the grace of Jesus Christ, and by faith in His Father, the ONLY true God!

Why do we make religion difficult and heart-wrenching? Have faith. Accept grace. Be saved.

Peace out.

It is pretty simple. Believe in Jesus Christ. We tend to try to make it harder than need be.
