Romans 11-14

Read these short chapters now with the BIBLE READER to the right of this post, or at http://www.biblegateway.com/. There's some pretty powerful stuff in today's reading, which I encourage you to check out!

LOVE

So, yeah. We're going to talk about love once again today, and I know we talk about it ALL the time. God's love, the love of Christ, love your neighbor, love, love, love. Sorry if I sound a bit repetitive, but today's reading included an entire section dedicated to love, and I'll post it below if you're interested. It's pretty amazing, and I love it :)

Love in Action

Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.

Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.

Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,”says the Lord. On the contrary:

“If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.
In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”

Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Romans 12:9-21

The last line really hit home for me, about not letting evil overtake you, but instead, overtaking evil with good.

It also says to share God's love with others, and to not focus on loving yourself too much. Give love to those who desperately need it, because we all have those times where we could use a little encouragement. It also mentions stuff about putting others above yourselves, which is also really important.

Spread the love this week! God sent His only son to die for us because He loved us SO much. He'll never stop loving us, so we should take after Him and give unconditional love to others. Don't judge others, because God doesn't judge us!

Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister.

Romans 14:13

Support each other. Love each other. It's an incredibly easy concept, but super hard to put into play. Try your best, and understand that God will never leave you and love you every step of the way

Peace.
