Samuel 28-31

Read these chapters with the BIBLE READER to the left of this post. or at www.bible.com.

So, good news, the book of Samuel is over today. Bad news-- there's 2nd Samuel that we'll start tomorrow. But oh well, it's just another book we'll have under our belt.

In today's reading, there were some pretty sketchy things. A lady that could bring people back to life, well sorta, so they could speak to people, or something... it's pretty confusing. I thought there were no fortune tellers, or magicians, right?

All I know to say is that times were very different then. People could talk to God, and ask him for advice. Heck, people were even able to have God appear before them! So, it makes sense that there were different forms of things that we're not used to.

I'm here to talk about (or, attempt to to talk about, anyway,) different beliefs in today's world. There are obviously many beliefs as to why we are here, and how we got here, and when we got here... and all this controversy about the creation of earth and the universe, and blah blah blah.

I do believe that some theories are wrong, but all beliefs should at least be respected, in my opinion.

But, when it all comes down to whether or not there's a God that loves you, or whether there's some magical spirit that carries hopes and wants into the universe... it gets pretty confusing.

If the Bible isn't enough proof for you that there IS in fact a God, how about we take a look at the earth. Some believe that there was a big explosion jillions of years ago that created earth. Like, the universe created earth or something.

Then, who created the universe?

And of course, there's this big controversy about people deriving from monkeys or something. Apparently, humans' complexity can only be explained that we began as monkeys?

Then, who created the monkeys?

People all over the place just don't get it sometimes. They have doubts, which is completely normal. But it's our job to set everything straight. Unlike in today's reading, God doesn't just come out and proclaim Himself to the universe anymore. Granted, he DOES have the power to do that, but He lets everyone have a choice as to whether or not they want to follow Him.

I think everyone should go to heaven though, don't you?

Yes, I agree. It's hard to have a really steady faith in Jesus when you can't see Him. It hurts when you pray for something over and over, and no proof comes out of anything. But that's what faith is. You can't see it, you can feel it, but you have to BELIEVE IT'S THERE. You have to know inside your heart that Jesus exists, and He died on a cross, and He rose form the dead for you, and for me, and for everyone.

That's all He wants. He wants us to have faith, and once we do, (and stick to our faith,) we know where we're going when we die!

2 Corinthians 4:18:

So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

It's never too late to believe in Him, either. You can start now, or if you're already a believer, you can tell others. It strengthens your faith, and your relationship with Jesus.

Got it? Good. Email me with any questions-- carlygaile@yahoo.com.

Peace be with y'all.

It is hard not to have faith when you see the tides come in and go out, animals living in the sea and creatures that we don't even know about, and it all comes together in God's creation! Mere man can't orchestrate something as complicated as all of earth! Yes, it disappoints us when our prayers seem to go unanswered, and we can't see God's miracles, or talk with him, but the Faith we have that HE IS....that is what gets us to heaven and the reward.

I agree. Especially being in FL... there are so many blessings that help us through the pain, constant reminders that there IS A GOD. Woo hoo!
