Proverbs 1-3

I love Proverbs! They kind of remind me of a cheesy movies with the lines the Karate instrutor yells at kids, but the message is still the same: YOU HAVE TO GET WISE!
The selection of chapters is really great today, it's like a prologue to the book of Proverbs. My pastor (HI PETER!) is doing a series called "Get Smart" on the book of Proverbs, so I'll try not to copy anything he's preached about!
To me, when you're reading these few chapters, it all seems to simple. Almost like they're saying the same thing over and over: BE WISE! DON'T BE FOOLISH! And you read it and go "That sounds so easy! Why aren't I wise already?"
Because.
It's hard to have a wise mind, especially with all of the weird things in our world. You can think to yourself as much as you want, but without the help of GOD you'll get nowhere. So, as we prepare to read the book of Proverbs, make sure to keep God in mind instead of thinking you can get wise by yourself.
It will take work to understand the parables, so be sure to keep God with you. Even after trying your hardest, you'll never officially be completely wise. Your life is a process that will continue to make you "wise."
So don't get frustrated, and keep God by your side, and everything should fall into place!
I'm excited!
Peace out!
