February 9th -- Numbers 5-6

Read these chapters at www.bible.com or with the BIBLE READER to the left of this post!

Rules, rules, and even more rules. But, what did they have in common? How about purity, or forgiveness for one's wrongs?

Back then, you had to do a number of ceremonies and strange rituals to become clean again after you did something wrong. Today, we call them sins... and guess what? I have very good news.

When's the last time you remember sinning? Since no one's perfect (including me,) I'll assume that it's been sometime recently. We sin all the time, with lying, and cheating, and being jealous, and stealing, and cursing, and saying God's name in vein. Truth is, the only person who isn't a sinner is Jesus. I'm just going to go out on a limb here and say that none of you are Jesus. (If Jesus is reading this, then

HI JESUS! I LOVE YOU! )

Alright. So, we all sin. What can we do to get rid of our sins? How do we eliminate the guilt? No, you don't have to dissect an animal, or pour blood over the walls. Back then, the Israelites had no savior, no messiah. We, however, have Jesus. He's the ultimate savior, and he can take care of our sins.

So, next time you mess up, don't just laugh it off your shoulder. Don't be too caught up in a sin, either. Sometimes, we get so upset that we forget who can save us. We get to devastated, we fail to realize that all of that can go away!

How?

Ask Jesus for forgiveness. I've asked a lot of people in my life if they'll forgive me, and I truly meant it, too. Sometimes, they don't forgive.

But Jesus is always willing to take you back, no matter how often or how badly you mess up!

Think about that whenever you make mistakes, because in the words of Hannah Montana...

NOBODIES PERFECT!
