WITHOUT A SHEPHERD.

Who is trustworthy for us to follow? Here, on earth. Who do we chose is worthy enough to follow? The president? The pope? Your parents? Your best friend?

Sorry. Those answers are incorrect. Because, believe it or not, not one of the above people are perfect. Sure, we can look towards these people for a little guidance, but let's be reasonable. If we follow someone imperfect completely, our lives won't ever be pure. No matter how many times we try!

So, who is one worth following? Sometimes, I feel like we put certain rules and laws on pedestals, and follow ONLY them. We take one verse, or one quote, and interpret it however we want. Jesus is telling people in today's reading that they shouldn't thrive on silly laws, but follow Him.

"You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to the traditions of men."
Mark 7:8

Jesus doesn't want us to interpret His law, but take it as it is. He wants us to LIVE FOR HIM. Sure, sometimes we can chose to live a certain verse a certain way, but Jesus is stressing that we shouldn't interpret the Bible and God's laws for bad purposes.

He is our only hope, everyone. We can't rely on ourselves to get us through the storms, or our president, our even a pastor or pope. Who we CAN fully live by is wholly and wonderfully PERFECT, Jesus Christ.

When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So he began teaching them many things.
Mark 7:34

Think about it.

Peace.
